Corporate Growth Opportunity
Our client had the opportunity to grow their business significantly through the acquisition of another business. We worked with the business owners advising on the best options for taking this deal to completion. The deal was complicated because the acquisition was with the liquidator. We therefore acted on behalf of our client in negotiating the detail with the bank concerning security and restructuring existing arrangements. The deal was completed quickly and smoothly which enabled the client to focus on driving the business forward rather than getting bogged down in the deal.
Useful Management Information
This particular business suffered from significant lock-up and poor recovery rates on jobs. Management of this was difficult due to poor management information from their accounting system. Our team created a spreadsheet using Excel ODBC linked to their accounting system to automatically produce meaningful management information in the form of summary reports at the click of a button. As a result of this the business has seen a significant drop in lock-up and improved recovery rates.
Business De-Merger
This business had reached a point in it’s development where it was sensible to de-merge a portion of the business into a separate business unit. We were asked to advise the client through this process. We prepared all the budgets and forecasts required and conducted the due diligence for the new management team. The business continues to go from strength to strength.
Brand Value
We were approached by a group of investors who had spotted what they believed to be an under valued and under exploited historically strong brand. We undertook an Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) for the purchasers and have been involved in re-evaluating the original financial projections as these lacked robustness. This interesting project is ongoing.
